According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, evidence showed that on March 3, 2023, around 5:30 p.m., Thomas went up to his first victim and with a gun to their neck, he demanded their car keys. The victim complied and Thomas drove off in their Lexus SUV.

Shortly after, he parked the Lexus and then approached a second victim around 5:45 p.m. He went up to the driver’s seat of a parked Toyota SUV that was running in a parking lot where Thomas was and pointed a gun through the window at the victim who was sitting in the passenger’s seat.

Thomas got into the Toyota, put the gun to the victim’s head and told him to get out. When the victim refused, they got into a struggle over the gun and Thomas got shot in the leg.

Thomas fled from the area and went to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police were able to identify him and connect him to both offenses.
