Davis DMV office to reopen after months long restoration

(FOX40.COM) — Davis drivers may be happy to hear that after a multi-month closure for renovation, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office in Davis will be reopening soon, according to the DMV.

Since Feb. 9, the office at 505 Pole Line Road has been closed as refurbishments were carried out for the HVAC system, roof, flooring, restrooms and other improvements.

California DMV will no longer process these services at offices

Those needing to visit the office have been forced to either the Woodland, Vacaville, Sacramento Broadway or Sacramento South offices which range from 12 to 23 miles from the Davis office.

The office will reopen at 8 a.m. on May 28 and residents are encouraged to use this opportunity of potentially shorter wait times at the new office to apply for a REAL ID before the May 7, 2025 deadline approaches.

Starting May 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will require a valid passport or other federally approved documents, like a REAL ID driver’s license or identification card, to board flights within the United States and access secure federal facilities and military bases.
