Davidson County hires new attorney

Apr. 24—DAVIDSON COUNTY — A Charlotte assistant city attorney will become the new Davidson County attorney.

The Davidson County Board of Commissioners announced the hiring of Adam M. Jones on Tuesday to succeed Chuck Frye, who retired last year. Jones will begin his new position on May 6.

Jones has served as a senior assistant city attorney for the city of Charlotte for the past six years.

He previously served as the legal coordinator for finance and procurement management for Charlotte from 2013 to 2018, and as services and technology contracts lead coordinator for finance and procurement management for Charlotte from 2011 to 2013.

Jones previously practiced law in Washington, D.C., and Wilmington, according to the Davidson County Manager's Office.

Jones graduated from Asheboro High School in 1995. He received his bachelor's degree from Duke University in 1999 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 2005.
