Davenport man who stabbed cousin more than 15 times arrested in Virginia, police say

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The suspect who was wanted for stabbing his cousin at a Davenport home has been arrested in Virginia, according to the Davenport Police Department.

A warrant was obtained for Douglas Kidd, 47, who violently stabbed his cousin more than 15 times last week. Officials said the victim is still hospitalized.

Tampa police warn public of ‘bank jugging’ thefts

On Tuesday afternoon, the Fugitive Task Force in Norfolk, Virginia located Kidd’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, where he was arrested.

Norfolk police took Kidd into custody. Davenport police are charging Kidd with attempted murder.

“We are thankful for our law enforcement partners in Norfolk, Virginia, who worked diligently to help us take this violent individual off the streets,” Steve Parker, the Chief of Police said. “We continue to pray for the victim and her recovery.”

Officials said the motive for the stabbing remains unknown.
