Davenport man faces sex-abuse charges
A 51-year-old Davenport man was in custody Saturday after police allege he sexually abused a child over several years, according to court records.
Adan Diaz-Herrera faces three felony charges of second-degree sexual abuse, three felony charges of lascivious acts with a child – fondle or touch, an aggravated misdemeanor charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and a serious misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure, court records show.
On Jan. 19, 2024, Davenport Police began an investigation into sexual abuse allegations involving Diaz-Herrera, according to arrest affidavits.
In affidavits, police allege “Multiple sexual abuse incidents occurred over a several year period and began when the child was approximately 5 years of age,” with multiple sexual abuse incidents between the victim’s approximate ages of 5-14.
Diaz-Herrera, who was being held Saturday on a $100,000 cash-only bond in Scott County Jail, is set for a preliminary hearing April 16 in Scott County Court.
