Dashon Lee murder investigation in Vineland brings two more arrests

Two more men face charges in connection with the slaying of a Vineland resident.

Meanwhile, a third suspect has surrendered to face charges over the March 9 shooting death of Dashon Lee, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.

Both of the new suspects were charged March 14, but one remained at large for about a week, the prosecutor's office said.

Jamin Carney, 28, of Millville was arrested March 15 on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, The state is seeking his detention.

In addition, Chavez Mills, 26, of Vineland was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. He was arrested in Vineland on the afternoon of March 21.

The charges against all three suspects are only allegations. They have not been convicted in the case.

Lee, 35, was found shot around 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot at the Asselta Acres apartments on Axtell Avenue, the prosecutor's office said.

He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Lee was the father of two daughters, according to an obituary.

It described Lee as "a stand-up guy" who "loved to represent, showcase, and support the many musical talents from Cumberland County."

The third suspect, Angel Aguero a 31-year-old Vineland resident, turned himself in to police in Passaic on March 22, the prosecutor's office said.

Aguero, who's accused of shooting Lee, had been a fugitive.
