Danville Police investigating weekend triple shooting

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Danville Police Department is investigating a shooting over the weekend that left three people hurt.

Department officials said the shooting happened in the area of Griffin and Williams Street early Saturday morning. It was determined that a “large gathering” was assembled there around 4:30 a.m. and shots were fired, hurting three people.

One of them was found at the scene by responding officers while two arrived at the hospital by personal cars. The victims are a 34-year-old female, a 33-year-old male and a 27 year-old female. All three have been released from the hospital, officials said.

While investigators determined the shooting happened during a gathering, officials said very little information was provided to them. Officials are asking for the public’s assistance in solving the crime.
