Dale County K9 retires after nine years on the force

DALE COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — The Dale County Sheriff’s Office is retiring an old friend.

Eddy, a Belgian Malinois, has worked for the Dale County Sheriff’s Office for the last nine years of his life.

During his service, Eddy was a narcotics and apprehension/tracking dog, participating in over 400 deployments.

Eddy’s handler, Deputy Cody Johnson, did a final sign-off for him on Tuesday.

” It’s time to take it easy and enjoy your retirement! We will miss you, but we’re sure the bad guys won’t!” wrote the Dale County Sheriff’s Office in a social media post.
