CSU Channel Islands honored the class of 2024 in a pair of ceremonies Saturday. Nearly 2,400 students earned degrees this year.

University President Richard Yao led a procession of graduates in black robes and crimson stoles onto the CSUCI's south quad for commencement festivities.

The university took the opportunity to award honorary doctorates to Vanessa Bechtel, CEO of the Ventura County Community Foundation, and Angela Timmons, a longtime social worker and former CSUCI campus therapist.
