Crowley Police arrests man in connection to shooting that injured a 5-year-old girl
CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) — Nearly one month ago, five-year-old Jesslyn Harmon was walking home from the school bus with her father and was hit with a bullet during a shooting on West Andrus Drive. Crowley Police Chief, Troy Hebert, says this arrest will give the public peace.
Hebert says 19-year-old Linzy Thomas turned himself into the authorities after being named as the primary suspect in the shooting. Thomas is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder. He says he has kept in contact with Jesslyn’s family since the shooting, and Harmon is doing well.
“I’m glad Mr. Linzy turned himself in, putting our public’s mindset at ease knowing that he is now incarcerated,” said Hebert.
With the investigation of the shooting coming to an end, Hebert says he is happy the department can put this incident in the past.
“We definitely glad we can put this behind us,” said Hebert.
Hebert sends a message to those who continue to resort to gun violence in Acadiana.

“Law enforcement can’t do it alone we need to work together with our citizens, with our youth. There’s better ways of going about it than carrying guns,” said Hebert.
Linzy Thomas is being held on a $350,000 bond.
