HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 65-year-old woman was killed Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle crash in the Nichols area, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Carrie Davis of Dillon County died at Grand Strand Medical Center. The coroner’s office said Davis died from blunt force trauma associated with the crash.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded at 9:15 a.m. to the area of Highway 19 and Pleasant View Church Road in the Nichols area, about six miles north of Loris. One of the vehicles involved in the crash overturned.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage was traveling south on Highway 19 when a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling north crossed the center line and crashed into the Mirage.

Davis was the driver of the Mitsubishi and was the only person in the vehicle during the time of the crash. She was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where she later died, highway patrol said. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
