Lee County Sheriff's Office

The following reports were filed Monday by the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

A County Road 1409, Mooreville, man said his neighbor abandoned a pit bull mix. He has been feeding the dog, but it was run over and seriously injured. He called all of the veterinarians in Tupelo, and none would take the dog. The only veterinarian willing to take the dog, which appears to be paralyzed in the rear legs, is located in Starkville. The man said he could not financially afford to take the dog to Starkville.

A County Road 111, Tupelo, woman said when she returned home, the cardboard that covers her window looked to have been moved. She thinks someone entered her house but did not steal anything. Deputies looked at the window and said it was physically impossible for someone to enter the house at that location. The deputies said someone could have reached in and pushed the cardboard by hand, moving it slightly.

A Saraland, Alabama, woman said she stopped at a Mooreville gas station Saturday afternoon to get gas and some items from inside the store. A while later, there was an unauthorized charge for more than $300 to Swedish Hasbeens. She said she only used the bank card at the Mooreville location that day. She said another family member had their card compromised after using it at the same store.

A Drive 780, Tupelo, woman was at home when she heard her car alarm just after midnight. She looked out of the window and noticed the car’s interior light was on. She said the car was locked and had been since she got home hours earlier. When she walked outside, one of the family cats was inside the car, and she noticed the front passenger door was partially closed but locked. She did not notice anything missing from the car.
