Felonies

The following people were booked into the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail in connection with felony charges ending Thursday at 11 a.m.

Josh Hood, 56, of Fulton, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, possession of contraband in a correctional facility.

Derek Kimble, 30, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, felony indecent exposure, violation of post-release supervision, disorderly conduct, simple assault, resisting arrest.

Jamarcus McCarter, 26, of Columbus, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, possession of contraband in a correctional facility.

The following reports were filed Thursday by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

A County Road 855, Shannon, man said an unknown Black male was seen on security camera four days earlier walking up to the man’s front door around 12:50 a.m. and appeared to attempt to remove the camera's battery. He could not tell if the suspect was trying to break in the house. The suspect did not get into the house and the man did not see any damage to the camera. He said the suspect has not returned.

A County Road 821, Saltillo, woman said her neighbor has a pit bull that had a litter of puppies. The mother dog and puppies are now roaming the neighborhood. The dogs have not shown signs of aggression, but she fears they may in the future. She is also worried they might get hit by a car.

A Tupelo man said that as he was turning left into a Shiloh Road, Guntown, driveway, he was almost hit by an older orange SUV. He tried to catch up to the SUV to get the tag but could not.

A County Road 2848, Guntown, man said he saw a firearm in the creek on County Road 2700. He said it looked like an AR-15. A deputy responded and made his way down to the creek bottom and discovered the firearm was actually a BB gun.

A Palmetto Road Dollar General employee saw an older gold Chevy Malibu parked across the road with their lights off around 9:40 p.m. The car then pulled to left side of the store and sat there for about 15 minutes before a white Z71 pickup pulled up beside it. Both vehicles then left. The clerk said it looked suspicious and she wanted to be safe in case anything happened.
