Service restored for customers after tree falls on powerlines in southwest Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Utilities says that power has been restored for customers in southwest Huntsville on Saturday.

According to Huntsville Utilities, the outage was affecting customers from Bob Wallace Avenue south to Redstone Arsenal and from Research Park Boulevard east to Memorial Parkway.

Service restored to many after outages briefly impacted over 3,100 HU customers

Officials say that a tree trimming company working in the area of Acklen and Bayless Drive caused a large tree limb to fall across power lines around 4:15 p.m.  Huntsville Utilities Electric Operations crews responded, removed the tree, repaired the damage, and restored service.
