Crews respond to ‘decently sized’ brush fire in Madison County

GURLEY, Ala. (WHNT) — Multiple crews responded to a fairly large brush fire that took place on Sunday.

According to a Moores Mill Volunteer Fire Rescue spokesperson, the brush fire is located near 1846 Sharps Cove Road in Gurley. Crews started to respond to the fire near 3 p.m.

Four departments from Madison County along with three departments from Jackson County all assisted with the incident.

According to HEMSI spokesperson Don Webster, there are no injuries and no houses are at risk of damage.

Officials have no timeframe for when the fire could be out. In fact, the fire could last well throughout the night. Crews also tried to call for an ariel water drop but couldn’t find a bucket to execute it.
