Crash leaves man hurt, lanes closed on I-270 in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A car crashed on southbound I-270, leaving a man hurt and causing lane closures early Thursday morning.

The crash happened at about 5:20 a.m. between Germantown Rd. and Middlebrook Rd. There, Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery Fire and Rescue Service, said a car flipped over and off the roadway, into the woods.

A man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two lanes were closed on southbound I-270. Maryland State Police advised commuters to expect significant delays or seek a different route.
