Crane collapses on Chesapeake home during tree removal

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A crane collapsed onto a Chesapeake home while crews tried to cut down a tree on Thursday.

The Chesapeake Fire Department says it happened in the South Norfolk area of the city when the crane failed under the load of the tree. The incident was at 1039 Paxson Avenue in the South Norfolk section of the city of Chesapeake. It happened around 1:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported, but two people were displaced from the home due to the damage.
