CPD: Man shot 20 times, killed in Greater Grand Crossing

CHICAGO — A man was shot 20 times in Greater Grand Crossing early Friday morning and died.

Officers responded to a shots fired call just before 2:35 a.m. in the 200 block of West 72nd Street.

A man, whose age was not provided, was found on the ground unresponsive. Chicago police said he sustained 20 gunshot wounds to the body and was transported in critical condition.

He died at the University of Chicago Medical Center a short time later.
