CPD: Man charged with first degree murder in connection to City Winery fatal stabbing

CHICAGO — The man charged with murder after a fatal stabbing at City Winery Wednesday is due in court Friday.

CPD said 41-year-old Clarence Johnson was charged with one felony count of first degree murder and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance.

Johnson was arrested Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Randolph Street in the city’s West Loop neighborhood after police said he was identified as the offender who fatally stabbed a 47-year-old man in the same area earlier that evening.

According to police, Johnson was placed into custody on scene and was charged accordingly afterward.
