UPDATE: Two individuals identified in deadly shooting on Milgen Road

UPDATE 5/20/24 10:13 a.m.: The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office released the identities of the individuals who died in a deadly shooting on Milgen Road.

Coroner Buddy Bryan confirmed to WRBL Kayla Jenkins, 23, and Deandre Kenoil Jones, 27, were pronounced dead at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. CPD says Jenkins was found outside the home and Jones was inside one of the units.

The Violent Crimes Unit has taken lead on the investigation.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in the 4700 block of Milgen Road at The Lowell Apartments.

CPD’s Violent Crimes Unit is on the scene. According to CPD, two people were killed in the shooting. Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson is also on the scene.

There are no other details available at this time. WRBL News 3 will share more details as they become available.
