CPD: Armed group robs 7 businesses from the Loop to North Center

CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department sent out a business alert Thursday about a string of armed robberies in the Loop, West Loop and North Center neighborhoods.

Police said in each instance, four unknown male offenders enter the business, display handguns and demand money from the register before fleeing in a silver Nissan sedan.

  • 1500 block of West Madison Street on April 4, 2024 at 5:30 a.m.

  • 100 block of North Clinton Street on April 4, 2024 at 5:45 a.m.

  • 200 block of West Jackson Boulevard on April 4, 2024 at 5:49 a.m.

  • 500 block of West Grenshaw Street on April 4, 2024 at 5:55 a.m.

  • 900 block of West Washington Boulevard on April 4, 2024 at 5:57 a.m.

  • 500 block of West Roosevelt Road on April 4, 2024 at 6 a.m.

  • 3600 block of North Western Avenue on April 4, 2024 at 6:15 a.m.

Police describe the group as being four Black males of unknown ages, wearing medical gloves, face coverings, blue jeans and hooded sweatshirts, while one person in the group was wearing a maroon winter jacket.
