The state said 540 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, and positivity increased to 21.7 percent.

New Mexico is on the verge of surpassing 6,000 deaths. The state said 5,969 people have died from COVID since the virus arrived in 2020.

Santa Fe County has seen more than 18,000 cases in nearly two years.
