UPDATE: Tornado near Hawley damages homes, injures 2

JONES COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC)— On Thursday, a tornado was spotted in the Hawley area, moving towards Abilene in Taylor County.

A viewer reported seeing the tornado at Highway 277 and 605 near Clear Fork Church. At 7:23 p.m., it was spotted at CR 494 and Fulwiler Road in Tye.

Mike Castillo, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in San Angelo, shared that they have received reports of six homes heavily damaged in the Hawley area. He added that at least two were injured, though their conditions are unknown at this time.
