Counting the days until St. Ubaldo Festival

JESSUP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — We’re only days away from the Running of the Saints for the big St. Ubaldo Festival in Lackawanna County.

The celebration began Wednesday with Jessup Hose Company Number 2’s Carnival.

This event is an annual staple for both the community and the fire department. It makes up more than half of its funding for the year.

Plans for Aldi, Wawa in Wilkes-Barre Twp.

The carnival offers tons of games, live entertainment, rides, and of course, delicious food.

“I grew up coming to this carnival so we really look forward to the Ubaldo race, but it’s great to have my kids grow up and enjoy all the rides it’s a great time,” said Jessup resident Dakota Chrastie.

The carnival runs through Monday and the annual Race of the Saints is on Saturday.
