Coroner identifies victim of latest fatal motorcycle crash in Berks

Apr. 16—A 60-year-old Montgomery County man was the person killed Monday morning in a motorcycle crash in Ruscombmanor Township, the Berks County coroner's office said Tuesday.

Kent L. Carpenter of Limerick Township was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 a.m. by Deputy Coroner Jason Kantner.

Carpenter died of head injuries and the death was ruled accidental, officials said.

Carpenter lost control on the roundabout on Route 73 at the intersection with Oley Road shortly before 9 a.m. and was thrown from the motorcycle, according to Fleetwood police, who provide police services to the township.

Carpenter became the 14th person to die this year as a result of motor vehicle crashes on Berks roads and the third motorcyclist to die within an 18-hour span beginning Sunday afternoon.
