Coronation Street airs exit for young character in latest episode

Eliza Woodrow has departed the cobbles in the latest Coronation Street episode.
The soap recently aired scenes where Eliza announced that she wanted to move abroad to Germany with her father Dom Everett after spending Easter break with him.
This decision was difficult for Eliza's grandfather Stu Carpenter, as he'd previously tried to bribe Dom to stay away from the young girl. Dom ultimately returned the money in order to build a relationship with Eliza.
It was time for Eliza's departure in Wednesday's (April 17) episode, with Stu set to accompany his granddaughter to Germany to help her settle in.
Before her exit, Eliza shared a heartwarming moment with friends Sam Blakeman and Hope Stape to tell them how much she'd miss them.
Things were uncertain for Stu and Yasmeen as he got ready to leave. Stu made it clear he wanted to make a fresh start with Yasmeen once he returned — if she was willing.

Hope, Stape and Alya gathered to see off Eliza, with Yasmeen assuring Stu he'd still be welcome at No.6 once he returned from Germany.
"Maybe, a clean slate," she told him.
Eliza shared a few more hugs with her friends, and then they all wished her well as she set off to her new life in Germany.
Actress Savannah Kunyo had previously hinted she had finished filming on Coronation Street when she shared an Instagram post showing her celebrating with her co-stars.
"Such a special night ... my Corrie friends will always hold a place in my heart," she wrote on the social media site.
The character of Eliza Woodrow was introduced two years ago and has been involved in several important storylines — including the hit-and-run car crash that helped bring down bully Mason.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
