Construction and bridge work to begin in Mansfield next week

MANSFIELD, Pa. (WETM) – Beginning next week, traffic in Mansfield will be impacted to accommodate the beginning of a two-year bridge project.

The project will begin on Monday, May 6, taking place on Routes 6 and 2005.

Roadwork continues in Athens, detour in place

The work will begin with the milling and resurfacing of 0.5 miles of Route 6 between the Tioga River and Swan Street, as well as 3.8 miles of Route 2005 on Main Street between Decker Street in Richmond Township and East Main Street.

Crews will also perform other work throughout the project which includes drainage improvements, utility relocations, construction of ADA ramps and rehabilitation and deck preservation of the bridge that carries Route 6 over the Tioga River.

Two-year roadwork project to begin in Liberty on Monday

During this time, traffic will be controlled by flagging for lane restrictions during the daytime and a westbound detour for bridge work.

The detour is expected to be in place from Monday, June 10, until mid-August of 2024.

Eastbound traffic will continue through the work zone and work in the central business district will be completed overnight. The work is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025.

Drivers are encouraged to drive with caution in areas where work is taking place.
