Robert King, Florida Tech's interim president, hosted the ceremony. The guest speaker was Bart Gaetjens, area external affairs manager for Florida Power & Light Co.

"I’m commending you, not just because you made it to this day, but because of the decision you made several years ago that led you to this day," King said, adding that attending Florida Tech "will prove to be the single best investment you will have made in your life."

"Whatever monetary rewards you will experience as you pursue your dreams and your careers, it was this investment that started it all," he said.
