Concord University hosts career fair

ATHENS, WV (WVNS) – Soon-to-be alumni Mountain Lions were given the opportunity to connect with jobs from all over the state. The Concord Career Fair was hosted in the ballroom of the university on April 10, 2024.

The fair gave students a closer look at job applications and future careers.

Fayette County Humane Society takes in abandoned kittens

Over 40 employers sat up tables in the ballroom to hand out applications. Graduating Senior Alex Foster says for students like him the fair offers many options to choose from.

“I’m not sure what I want to do after I get that piece of paper. So, it’s nice to just have all of these people in this room to talk to,” said Foster.

Free professional headshots were also available and giveaways were also part of the experience.

AI chip startup DEEPX secures $80M Series C at a $529M valuation
DEEPX is a South Korean on-device AI chip (NPU, or neural processing unit) startup that makes hardware and software for various AI applications in electronic devices. The company announced this week that it has raised $80 million (KRW 108.5 billion) in a Series C round at a valuation of $529 million (KRW 723 billion), which has surged more than eight times from its Series B funding, about $15 million, in 2021. The Series C funding, which brings its total raise to around $95 million, will go toward mass production of the startup's inaugural products — DX-V1, DX-V3, DX-M1 and DX-H1 — in late 2024 for global distribution.
