Community replants vandalised bathtubs
Flowers have been replanted in seven donated bathtubs after they were vandalised last month.
The Friends of Central Park (FoCP), the Peterborough Civic Society and the Up the Garden Bath groups teamed up to install the upcycled tubs in the city's Central Park.
However, the wooden-clad units were toppled over within a week of being unveiled.
Dan Poulton, who started the Up the Garden Bath initiative, said some of the "young people" who were behind the vandalism were invited to join in with the replanting.
The replanting took place on Sunday and Monday, which was World Earth Day.
"Like a phoenix we rise from the flames," said Mr Poulton, speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
“We worked with local groups again on Sunday and Monday to replant the bathtubs.
“We have invited some of the young people who damaged the planters as well. There’s no point prosecuting them for tipping over flower planters.
“Instead, we thought if we could get them involved, let them have a sense of ownership, we might be able to avoid such vandalism in the future.”
