Commissioners meet on Tuesday

May 15—JEFFERSON — The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners approved moving forward with a number of projects at a Tuesday meeting.

The commissioners approved seeking bids for the renovation of the interior of the Ashtabula County Children Services Board building, at a maximum cost of $2.8 million.

The publication will be on May 22, and bids will be opened on June 21.

In other business:

—The commissioners approved posting a number of desktop monitors, computers and a projector for auction online, and declared a desktop computer and a firewall of no value and ordered them to be scrapped.

—The commissioners approved a resolution allocating $5,000 to the state's celebration of the United States' 250th anniversary.

—The commissioners declared an emergency and approved work to repair a water tank in Harpersfield Township. According to the resolution, a tank installed in the 1990s had broken and twisted components that need to be repaired.

The cost of the work will be $162,000.
