Columbus Consolidated Government urging residents to submit their absentee ballots

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Nearly 1,400 ballots have been mailed out in Columbus for the Georgia primary on May 21.

Out of those, less than 200 have been returned to the elections office for counting, according to the Columbus Consolidated Government.

Residents are asked to deliver their ballot to the collection drop box or the elections office at the Citizen Service Center (3111 Citizens Way). Ballots must arrive at the election office by the day of the election.

Anyone who requested an absentee ballot and has yet to receive it is asked to email muscogeeabsenteedelivery@columbusga.gov with their name and address. The elections office can also be reached at (706) 652-4392.

Early voting continues through Friday, May 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the City Service Center, Columbus Technical College and the Shirley Winston Recreation Center.

If you requested an absentee ballot, you can still vote in-person early or on election day.
