Columbus Civic Center to host third annual Juneteenth Jubilee

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Civic Center is planning to host the third annual Juneteenth Jubilee.

According to the Civic Center, the Jubilee is a month long celebration of African American heritage and culture.

The event is taking place at several different locations around Columbus:

  • June 6 – Press Conference – 10:00 a.m. | Roundtree House 1710 Buena Vista Road

  • June 12 – Hiring Event/Resource Fair – 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Columbus Civic Center Hospitality Suites 400 Fourth Street Columbus, GA 31901

  • June 12 – 13, June 15 – 19 – Clothes Story Exhibition – 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | The Springer Opera House 103 10th St, Columbus, GA 31901

  • June 15 – Clothes Story Live Performance – 6:30 p.m. | Springer Opera Theatre Grand Lobby

  • June 14 – 16 – Men of Motown – Friday & Saturday 7:30 p.m. | Sunday 2:30 PM | –Springer Opera House 103 10th St, Columbus, GA 31901

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated annually on June 19, to commemorate the freedom of the last enslaved people in the United States. It was made a national holiday by President Biden in 2021.
