Colton man indicted on 41 counts, including attempted murder

May 24—CANTON — St. Lawrence County grand juries handed up indictments against four people in sessions that took place on Thursday and May 16.

Elijah A. Morrow, 26, of Colton was indicted on 41 counts stemming from incidents on Jan. 15, Feb. 2, Feb. 3, Feb. 17, April 6, April 7, and April 11. The charges include attempted second-degree murder. All of the offenses were committed against a single victim, St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary Pasqua said.

Morrow also was indicted on felony charges of: third-degree intimidation of a victim or witness (two counts), first-degree criminal contempt (nine counts), second-degree strangulation (two counts), second-degree burglary and aggravated first-degree criminal contempt.

Morrow was indicted on misdemeanor charges of: fourth-degree stalking, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree unlawful imprisonment (four counts), second-degree criminal contempt (12 counts), fourth-degree criminal mischief (two counts), third-degree assault, petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The indictment also contains two counts of second-degree harassment, which is a violation.

The stalking count charges Morrow with stalking the alleged victim from Dec. 18 to Jan. 14. The attempted murder charge stems from the April 11 incident.

Wayne S. Shepherd was indicted for single felony counts of third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and also a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

The indictment says on Dec. 1, Shepherd stole property valued at more than $3,000.

Kaylie Collins, 37, and Kenneth Williams, 51, were each indicted on two felony counts apiece of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The pair was arrested on Feb. 22 following a traffic stop in the town of Potsdam where sheriff deputies allegedly discovered 6.1 ounces of cocaine. The indictment adds that Collins had intent to sell the narcotics.
