Clouds play havoc with Ukraine's energy system as Kyiv has enough for only 75% of the city on May 23
There will be enough electricity to provide for 75% of Kyiv's needs on May 23 according to consumption limits announced by DTEK, the company reported on Telegram.
"The limits allocated by Ukrenergo will be enough to provide electricity to an average of 75% of the capital's needs," the message says.
Stabilization shutdowns will be in effect throughout the day on May 23.

If the situation changes, consumers will be notified, DTEK added.
Hourly electricity blackout schedules will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine on May 23, Ukrenergo reported on Facebook.
"Hourly shutdown schedules will be in effect for industrial and household consumers throughout Ukraine all day," Ukrenergo said.
"The power supply of critical infrastructure facilities, which provide life support to the population, will not be limited."

Weather was cited as the reason for the extension of restrictions, as clouds over much of the country will reduce the efficiency of Ukraine's solar power plants.
The amount of restrictions will depend on just how much sun peeks through.
Shutdowns will be applied when a region exceeds its consumption limits, Ukrenergo said, adding that those limits are provided to each regional electricity supplier every evening.
The information on when the blackouts will be applied in the region can be found in the consumer's office, on the official websites of the regional electricity supplier, and on the social media pages of those companies, Ukrenergo reminded.
Controlled emergency power outages were introduced in all regions of Ukraine due to a significant shortage of electricity in the system, previously reported on May 14.
