Here are the closures scheduled across Lane County this week

Repair and maintenance work are expected to cause closures in several spots around Lane County in the coming days. Here are some of the closures most likely to affect motorists and park-goers.

Pavement work on N. Game Farm Road

North Game Farm Road in Eugene will be closed through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day for paving, which begins at Milepost 1 and ends at mile marker 1.7.

According to Lane County officials, travelers can use Crescent Ave. or Coburg Road as an alternative route in the area.

Landslide risk reduction on Row River Road

Row River Road at milepost 6 will be closed east of Cottage Grove from May 20 to June 17. Crews are scheduled to replace a failing culvert under the road, which should reduce the risk of landslides in the area.

Culverts are tunnel structures under roadways that provide drainage from one side of the road to another.

According to Lane County, the work will take place at four different locations between May 20 and Sept. 25. Each culvert replacement will require a full road closure of 4-6 weeks.

Travelers are asked to use Shoreview Drive as an alternative route. The subsequent closures are as follows:

  • Milepost 7 from June 17 to July 22

  • Milepost 7.4 from July 23 to Aug. 22

  • Milepost 8.7 from Aug. 23 to Sept. 25

Hendrick's Bridge Park

A boat ramp at Hendricks Bridge Park in Springfield will be closed this week for debris removal, according to Lane County officials.

The closure began Monday and will end on Friday so workers can remove several tons of debris from January's ice storm.

The park was used as a drop site for debris collected by residents as well as debris removed from roadways by Lane County Public Works. The large piles, which consist of tree limbs, earned the unofficial nickname of "Mt. Brushmore" due to its height.

Lane County Officials say additional boat ramp closure may be needed next week depending on how much debris can be removed this week.

The park's day use remains open to the public, but visitors are asked to be mindful of closed areas and equipment.
