Clinton National Airport preparing for busy Memorial Day travel

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport is gearing up for an increase in travel as the unofficial start of summer nears.
Officials with the airport said that nearly 30,000 passengers are expected to depart from the Little Rock airport on Memorial Day, a 14% increase compared to last year.
Memorial Day events in central Arkansas
Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, are expected to be the busiest days, airport officials said.
To help travelers prepare for the influx in travel, airport officials recommended the following tips:
Arrive two hours before departure time to give yourself enough time to find parking and check in
If you carry a firearm, it must be unloaded, locked in a hard-sided case, secured in a checked baggage and decaled to the airline
Pack with an empty bag to avoid bringing prohibited items through TSA
Have your ID ready to show at the security checkpoint
Airport officials reminds TSA PreCheck members to make sure their Known Traveler Number is in their reservation.
