Cleaning up after the storms

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – This week’s storms, which included several tornadoes, have a lot of people in clean-up mode. Eau Claire County Emergency Management says if people need to report damage or need help cleaning up, they should contact 211.

The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down Tuesday evening in Augusta and the towns of Bridge Creek and Wilson, causing private and public infrastructure damage. Preliminary estimates show the tornado was at least a quarter mile wide and the path was at least seven miles.

Emergency management says while there was some damage to county-owned parks, including Lake Eau Claire, the Parks and Forest Department doesn’t anticipate issues with the holiday weekend.
