Clarkston man accused of dealing fentanyl

Apr. 27—A Clarkston man is accused of dealing narcotics after being arrested with hundreds of fentanyl pills.

The Quad Cities Drug Task Force arrested 62-year-old Richard Almeida for allegedly possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to a news release by the Whitman County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

Detectives executed a narcotics-related search warrant at a home located on Pound Lane in Clarkston on Thursday afternoon. They found about 700 fentanyl pills and more than an ounce of packaged fentanyl powder, according to the news release.

This was the second time law enforcement has initiated a search of the home. According to the news release, detectives arrested 69-year-old Robert Bergamo of Clarkston on similar charges at the residence in January.

The Lewiston Police Department and the Asotin County Sheriff's Office assisted in Thursday's arrest, according to the news release.

The Quad Cities Drug Task Force is partially funded by the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance. Its goal is to combat narcotics distribution in southeastern Washington and western Idaho counties, according to the news release.
