CHICAGO — The man charged with murder after a fatal stabbing at City Winery on Wednesday will remain behind bars following a court appearance on Friday.

Clarence Johnson, 41, is accused in the stabbing death of 47-year-old Francois H. Reed-Swain, who worked as a server at City Winery in the city’s West Loop.

According to police, Johnson allegedly stabbed Reed-Swain multiple times in the back and chest Wednesday evening at the downtown-area eatery located in the 1200 block of W. Randolph Street. Prosecutors say several people witnessed the attack, including a bartender and a couple of patrons seated at the bar.
