City tackles latest street resurfacings

Apr. 27—HIGH POINT — Repaving crews for the city of High Point will kick off work Monday in several High Point neighborhoods on 14 street resurfacing projects that will take place during the next several months.

In the first phase, contractors will begin work along Pendleton Street, Habersham Road, Tuxedo Way, Kroll Court, Kroll Lane, Pendleton Court and Hilburn Drive.

Other areas to be resurfaced later this year are:

—E. High Avenue and W. High Avenue.

—E. Commerce Avenue from S. Hamilton Street to S. Centennial Street.

—Brevard Road.

—Fraley Road.

—Sedgebrook Street.

—Regency Drive from N.C. 68 to Sedgebrook Street.

Each year, the city identifies streets in need of resurfacing based on a pavement condition survey.

The contractor will install temporary no-parking signs along the streets before work begins. The project is expected to take approximately four months to complete, depending on weather conditions. Delays may occur due to rain or severe weather.
