City of Log Cabin declares local state of disaster

LOG CABIN, Texas (KETK) – The City of Log Cabin in Henderson County has declared a local state of disaster because of recent severe weather.

The city said in a post that they’ve had a loss of power, downed power lines and blocked roads after being hit by weather on Saturday. Currently, the city park is closed and city personnel are responding around town with law enforcement and local fire departments.

As a result of the city’s declaration, which expires in seven days, the city’s Emergency Management Plan has been activated in order to better respond to the damage.

City officials are also in contact with the Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative, Henderson County Precinct 1 and Henderson County Emergency Management.

They’re encouraging anyone with damage to report in through the TDEM iSTAT tool and through email to mayor@logcabin.texas.gov.
