City council takes action on DWSRF water projects

Apr. 26—McAlester city councilors have approved eight items related to the city's ongoing Drinking Water State Revolving Fund projects.

Dale Burke of Infrastructure Solutions provided an update to city councilors on DWSRF projects in various stages of completion.

City councilors accepted Burke's recommendations on all of the projects and took the appropriate actions during the regular Tuesday night council meeting at City Hall.

Councilors accepted the total bid amount of $69,700 for a contract with Lone Hickory Cattle, LLC, for Project #13C, to replace the Prison Master Water Meter. This includes replacing the concrete vault as well as the meter, Burke said.

City councilors also authorized Mayor John Browne to sign the following documents:

—Contractor's Final Change Order #3 and Certificate of Substantial Completion for the contract with Timco Blasting & Coatings Inc. for the DWSRF Project #5, School Waterline Improvements.

—Contractor's No Cost Change Order #1 for the contract with S3 Construction LLC for the DWSRF Revolving Fund Project #10, Carl Albert Waterline Improvements.

—Contractor's Final Change Order No. 4 and Certificate of Substantial Completion for the contract with Timo Blasting & Coatings Inc. for the DWSRF Project #11, Park Avenue Waterline Improvements.

—Contractor's Final Pay No. 5 in the amount of $77,552.56 for the contract with Timco Blasting & Coatings Inc. for the DWSRF Project #11, Park Avenue Waterline Improvements.

"This is the final payment to the contract for Project 11," Burke told city councilors.

—Contractor's Pay Application No. 2 and for the contract with Lone Hickory Cattle LLC for the DWSRF Project #12, South Main Water System Improvements.

—Contractor's Pay Application No. 12 and for the contract with W Brown Enterprises Inc. for the DWSRF Ashland Avenue Water System Improvements, in the amount of $41,393.05.

—Contractor's Final Pay No. 5 with Timco Blasting & Coatings Inc. for the DWSRF Project No. 5 School Waterline Improvements in the amount of $110,457.81.

Joining Mayor Browne to make all of the votes to approve the actions unanimous were Ward 1 Councilor Levi Gilmore; Justin Few, Ward 2; Randy Roden, Ward 4; Billy Jack Boatright, Ward 5 and Kevin Beaty, Ward 6.

Ward 3 Councilor Chris Stone did not attend the meeting.
