City commission shows appreciation for linemen and public safety telecommunication workers

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The city commission honored those who put their lives on the line every day in dangerous conditions for Linemen Appreciation Day Tuesday.

Linemen are usually the first to respond to catastrophic events.

They work with thousands of volts of electricity high atop power lines 24/7 365 days a year.

The city gave them their recognition Tuesday as they keep electricity flowing.

The city also showed love to the heroes who wear headsets — telecommunication workers.

These are the men and women with Dothan Public Safety who answer the call when you have an emergency at any time to get first responders to you quickly.

They are the vital link to for police officers and firefighters by monitoring their activities, providing critical information, and ensuring their safety.

This week is Public Safety Telecom Workers Week.
