City of Bemidji to hold open house on Highway 197 roundabout landscaping plans

May 14—BEMIDJI — The city of Bemidji will host an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, in the council chambers at City Hall.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and gather input from the community about the final landscaping plan for the

Minnesota Department of Transportation's project on State Highway 197

and

the city's plans for Hannah Avenue and Middle School Drive.

The project on Highway 197 would include three roundabouts at Hannah Avenue, Middle School Drive and the entrance to Menard's, with construction expected in 2026. Final city approval of the project is expected to be decided by the end of 2024.

The city's project for Hannah Avenue and Middle School Drive would include three roundabouts, and construction would be expected in 2025 and was approved in late 2023.
