Deputies arrested 54-year-old Autry Chandler Reed Friday in connection with the shooting on Boothtown Road.

An MCSO news release said deputies were called to the 13000 block of Boothtown Road and found a man, identified as Jeremy Kelley, who had been shot with a shotgun in his left bicep by Reed.

Officials said the estranged wife of Reed was the one who called 911.

She said Reed and Kelley had argued when Reed armed himself with a shotgun and fired a shot at Kelley, according to the release. He then allegedly ran away.

On Friday, officials told News 5 that the woman’s husband, Reed, had shot her new boyfriend.

Reed was found and arrested, and the shotgun was found in a nearby pond, according to the release.

Officials said Kelley was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
