CHP at maximum enforcement during Memorial Day weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol is set to be in full force during the holiday Memorial Day weekend.

The office announced Wednesday a statewide maximum enforcement period, which will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and ends Monday.

Last year, the CHP made more than 1,100 arrests for impaired driving during Memorial Day weekend, averaging one arrest every four minutes.
