CHP to host online hiring seminars as it seeks new officers and dispatchers
The California Highway Patrol will host online hiring seminars this week to provide information for those interested in becoming officers or dispatchers.
The hour-long virtual meetings come as the CHP continues working toward its multi-year goal of adding 1,000 new officers to the force, officials said.
A session for those interested in becoming officers will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the CHP. Participants can register online at eventbrite.com/e/california-highway-patrol-virtual-hiring-seminar-tickets-903426963367.
"Whether you're curious about the application process, eager to gain insights into Academy life, interested in the various divisions across California, or want to know more about officer compensation, specialty assignments, and the hiring process – we've got it all covered," the CHP said in a written statement.
Another seminar for those interested in a career as a public safety dispatcher will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Guests can register online at eventbrite.com/e/public-safety-dispatch-virtual-hiring-seminar-tickets-903445288177.
Topics covered will include the application process, 911 operations, dispatcher benefits and more.
Both seminars are free and open to all, organizers said.
