Chisholm Trail Museum celebrates 60 years announcing new name, renovations

KINGFISHER, Okla. (KFOR)The Chisholm Trail Museum is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary on April 22!

Alongside the celebration, museum leaders also announced a new “$6 Million for 60 Years” fundraising campaign to begin in dedication to expanding and renovating the museum starting May 1.

To celebrate this milestone, Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell partnered with the museum to announce on Facebook that the museum will rebrand simply as The Chisholm and move forward with a mission to collect, preserve, and share the story of farming and ranching heritage across Oklahoma from its historical past through contemporary issues.

The museum sits at the crossroads of Oklahoma’s wheat belt and along the Chisholm Trail.

The Chisholm is set to launch the campaign with over $1.5 million in allocated funding, with work beginning this summer.
