Child and man attacked by dog in southwest Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A dog attacked a child and a man at a home in southwest Wichita over the noon hour on Wednesday. Sedgwick County dispatchers said the attack left a 3-year-old child with potentially serious injuries.

It happened shortly before 1 p.m. in the 2200 block of West Graber, just east of Meridian and between Pawnee and 31st Street South.

The Wichita Police Department said a dog inside a house started attacking a 3-year-old girl and a man. Both victims were injured and were taken to a hospital. KSN does not know the extent of the man’s injuries.

Microchipping dogs and cats could become mandatory in Wichita

Animal control was called to the location. An animal control employee did not say the dog’s breed but said the dog was impounded.
